HEIC is the format the iPhone saves photos in. Not every browser can open it: if yours cannot, the page tells you. The JPG you get opens everywhere, at the cost of a slightly larger file. It cannot carry transparency: the transparent areas of your HEIC are laid on the background you choose, white, black or any colour. White is preselected, and changing the background after dropping your files converts them again.

What next?

How it works

  1. Pick your imagesOne or several at once, from your device.
  2. Processed instantlyNo upload to wait for: your browser does the work.
  3. Get the resultOne file, or a ZIP archive for a batch.

The two formats

HEIC
The format of iPhone photos: light and good quality, but few programs outside Apple's own can open it.
JPG
Light and read everywhere, ideal for sharing photos. It does not keep transparency, and every save loses a little quality.

Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. The work happens in your browser: once a first image is processed, the next ones are processed even offline.

What happens to transparent areas?

The format you get does not keep transparency: transparent areas are laid on a solid background. White is preselected, and you can choose black or another colour before or after dropping your images: changing the background after dropping them converts them again.

Is there a size limit?

It depends on your device's memory: a computer takes larger images than a phone. If an image is more than your device can handle, the page tells you.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no account and no sign-up.
